Eligible degree: BSED or Transition to Teaching
certification program

Eligibility requirements:
– Applicants must attend the University of Phoenix
Northwest Indiana on-ground campus in Merrillville,
Indiana.
– Applicant must be currently involved within the early
childhood education field.
– Applicant must pursue either a Bachelor’s of Science in
Education or a Transition to Teaching certificationprogram.
– Applicants must not be currently enrolled nor in the
process of enrolling at University of Phoenix at any time
prior to the scholarship award date.
– Applicants must not be an employee or family member
(spouse, dependent child or domestic partner) of an
employee of Apollo Group, Inc., University of Phoenix, or
any other subsidiary of Apollo Group, Inc. Applicants must
not be an employee of United Way of Porter County, Lake
Area United Way, or United Way of LaPorte County.
